TP-Link packed its AC3150 router full of high-end features
The door band TP Link Archer C3150 V2 router has great range, consistent speeds, and lots of features for an affordable price.
For $220, you get MU-MIMO, beam forming, additional security, two USB ports for network storage, and link aggregation For super fast 2 gigabit wired connection.
You also get some bonus features that are usually hit-or-miss with routers in the $200 range like SmartConnect which lets your router automatically choose the best band for each of your device that's connect to.
It also has Airtime Fairness which helps keep older, slower devices from bogging down the entire network.
There's also a security feature called HomeCare.
This gives you basic anti-virus Extensive parental controls and in-depth quality of services that lets you prioritize which device or traffic type can use the most bandwidth.
The app, overall, was a little disappointing.
I couldn't really customize many settings and had to go to the browser menu often.
The app has some good monitoring features though.
And you can remotely manage the network with the app if you sign up for a TP link account.
The web interface Was much more helpful and you can control just about everything you want from there.
The icing on the cake was the router's speed and range.
It held consistent at a 160 megabits per second on a 2.4 gigahertz band all the way up to 50 feet.
On 5 gigahertz it topped out at nearly 900 megabits per second Close range.
You should get great coverage in a medium to large home.
The TP-Link Archer C3150 V2 was a pleasant surprise.
It's powerful hardware will keep your home network running smoothly and it's strong wi-fi will keep all your devices connected.
