Tim Cook promises iOS update will stop iPhones from slowing down

iPhone owners will soon be able to stop their phones from slowing down. In an interview with ABC News, Apple CEO Tim Cook confirmed that a software update to iOS will alert users when performance is being reduced to compensate for a bad battery. And owners can choose to turn off that feature if they don't want it. As an effort to be more transparent to customers, the next iOS update is also going to include a menu that shows battery health details. The drama over iPhone slow downs began at the end of December. Apple admitted that its' software will slow down the performance of an iPhone. With an older battery. Now Apple's reasoning was to prevent the phone from a sudden shut down if it didn't have the juice to handle tasks at full speed, regardless of the reasoning many customers were furious that Apple wasn't more transparent about this feature and Apple apologized.
