A new report says Ticketmaster may have an interesting relationship with re sellers.
You know how it's really difficult to get tickets on Ticketmaster?
It seems like all the seats you want get gobbled up in a few seconds, right?
Well a new report might explain what's really going on.
CBC News and the Toronto Star conducted an investigation.
They sent a couple of reporters to a ticketing convention called ticket summit 2018.
The reporters were pretending to be scalpers and wound up being referred to tickmasters professional reseller program.
Ticket master's rep told the reporters that the resale division does not report scalpers who use bots and fake identities The reporter directly asked if resellers would be policed by Ticketmaster if they used multiple accounts.
The rep answered "Uhh, no.
I have a gentleman who has over 200 Ticketmaster.com accounts." Ticketmaster also introduced a new tool called TradeDesk which makes it easier for ticket resellers to list their tickets to sell them.
A trade desk exec told one reporter that quote, we don't spend any time looking at your ticketmaster.com account.
I don't care what you buy.
It doesn't matter to me.
There's a total separation between ticket master and our division.
It's church and state.
We don't monitor that at all.
End quote.
The CBC news and Toronto Star published another report explaining that Ticket Master make lots of mony on ticket that are resold.
It charges fees o the initial sale and then on the resale.
Ticket Master and it's parent company Live Nation did not immediately respond to request for comments.
We have to see what this turns out To find out more, keep it here at CNET.
I'm Iyaz Akhtar, and I'll see you online.
