The Robomow Diaries: A digital joystick turns mowing the lawn into a game

[MUSIC] So as I did last week, I really let the Robomow do its thing. I had automatic mowing cycles and it's been going out on its own Mowing my yard and really taking care of itself. So using the app is an opportunity to interact with the Robomow without getting in its way. But the app lets you tinker and play with the Robomow a little bit. Honestly from the comfort of your entryway, which is where I am right now. So today I'm going to test out what seems to be a really cool feature on the Robomow's app, which is Is a remote controlled kind of joystick situation, so you can manually guide the Robomow where you want it to go. But as you can see, my lawn is pretty Pretty even, pretty short. But there's little patches of grassy weeds right in the middle that always get to be passed over so I'm going to hopefully get the Robomow working right here. There's the Robomow. Here's the joystick. Okay, look, it's going in reverse. Aw snizzap! Now let's see if I can turn it around, aw yeah. So the spot I was talking about earlier I'm going to try to guide it to that little spot in the middle of my yard, now with the app to get it to start mowing. I need to hold down the little lock symbol and then hold down this little mow symbol. Pressing that down, pressing this. [MUSIC] And I don't know if you can hear but it is indeed Starting to mow. Now, it is time to send the Robomow home. So, pressing that button. There it is in the distance, searching for the base. And so, I have to give the app its props. Though it sometimes disconnects a little bit when you're using it It is really responsive in terms of getting the Robomow, you know, from it's the base station to doing whatever it is that you want to do. The joystick functionality, it really is like playing a video game Play a video game with your robot lawn mower. Which is really really cool, but also really really useful if there's just those little patches that it seems to miss on its own.
