The best stuff hitting Netflix in August (and what's disappearing, too)

Home Entertainment
Reading Rainbow, Narcos, and Doctor Who- the best stuff to watch on Netflix, coming up. [MUSIC] Welcome to Net Picks. This is your resource to finding out what's coming and going online, in the world of video. I'm Iyaz Akhtar. Today, we're talking about Netflix for the month of August. 78 titles being added. For the final disappearance, I scoured the list, did research. I have some really, really interesting things and here's what you need to know. First up, the best coming to Netflix in August. On the first 'The Hurt Locker', starring Hawkeye and Falcon. I mean Jeremy Renner and Anthony Macke arrives on Netflix. The war movie has a 98% freshness rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Everybody's favorite kid's show about books, Reading Rainbow: Volume I, arrived on Netflix on August 1st, as well. For those of us who enjoy finding out how movies are made, the documentary, Casting By, comes online on the first. It takes a look at the people who help select the actors we watch on screen, the Casting Director. August 6th, watch Welcome to Me starring Kristen Wiig. It's a story about a lottery winner. Who decides to use that money to buy herself a talk-show. The eight season of Doctor Who is coming. When? August 8th. Where? Netflix. How? Just stream it okay? Nick Cage alert! Lord of War hits Netflix on August 17th. Spoiler, it has nothing to do with God of War. On the 23rd of August, catch up with Corey and Topanga in the sequel to Boy Meets World when season one of Girl Meets World arrives on Netflix. Netflix has a few originals coming out in August. But take a look at Narcos on the 28th. It's a drama based on the real life drug trade of the 1980s. The show just looks great. Here's hoping it's not a letdown. What about what's leaving Netflix in August? On the first of August, say goodbye to the body building documentary, Pumping Iron, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger before he was a big movie star. Titanic disappears on the first. No, I'm not doing a boat pun for this one. Face Off gets knocked off on the same date. Bad news for Bruce Willis fans. The Fifth Element and Unbreakable both become unwatchable on the 1st of August. Not because they become bad movies on that date. They're both great. They just go offline on the first. The full run of Family Ties disappears on the 15th of August. If you've never seen it, you should. It's amazing what used to be on network television in the 1980s. Oh, and that documentary that sits in your watchlist and mine, because you think it's so great you'll watch it one day, Jiro Dreams of Sushi. It goes offline on the 23rd of August. So watch it while you still can. And the weirdest title leaving Netflix in August is Immortalized, Season one. It's a competitive taxidermy show. Let me say that again, competitive taxidermy show. If you're curious, you've got till the 15th of August to watch. Here's the full list of everything coming to Netflix for August. Here's the full list of everything leaving Netflix in August. Now those titles could change and, if they do, we'll update you over at cnet.com/netpicks. That's it for us. I'm Iyaz and we'll see you later. [BLANK_AUDIO]
