The Asus Memo Pad 8: An 8-inch, quad-core, budget Android tablet
Tech Industry
I'm Andrew Hoyle for CNET and I'm here at the IFA Trade Show in Berlin taking a look at the ASUS MeMO Pad 8. So we've already seen the MeMO Pad 7 which was a great bit of kit for the price.
This new one adds an extra inch giving more space to photos, videos, or games.
If you're a Netflix fanatic it could be a good choice.
The display does keep the same 1280x800 pixel resolution.
There is a bit of a shame that it's not full
HD, but hopefully it will have a very cheap price to make up for it.
It's running on a quad-core 1.6 gigahertz processor which seems to make things fairly nippy.
It's running on Android 4.2.2 and ASUS has put a lot of its own software and apps over the top.
Physically it's quite plain but this hot pink color does help keep it a bit interesting.
It will be available in other colors though if pink isn't really your thing.
It's fairly low screen resolution won't keep hardcore tech fans happy but if you're after a decent all-around 8-inch slate
it could be a good choice to look for.
