>> Welcome to Tekzilla Daily I'm Veronica Belmont.[Background Music] External hard drives are a popular way to deal with the overflow of data that can pile up on a PC's hard drive. Unfortunately, that can really screw up the organization of those files. For example, if you decide to store all your my music folder files on an external drive. Sure you can still access the files but you'll need to navigate through the drive itself and not the my music folder located in the C drive. Thankfully there is a work around. Both Windows XP and Vista make it easy to mount an external drive inside your C drive. Open the run dialogue and type compmgmt.msc and hit enter. Select disk management and right click on the drive you'd like to change. Select change drive letter and pass, click add and chose an empty folder you'd like to use as your mount point. If you'd like the drive to still appear as an external drive, leave the pre-existing drive letter there. If not just remove it. That's all there is to it. So next time you need to reorganize those files you can keep them all under one roof. Now if you have a tip or trick that you want to share then e-mail us at Tekzilla@revision3.com and don't forget Tekzilla.com is the place to find more tips, tricks, product reviews and how to's.
