There are certain phrases and words that you probably find yourself typing a lot.
Like your e-mail address, your kids name or perhaps brief phrases, like talk to you later and by the way.
Most smart phones have ways for you to create your own abbreviations and acronyms for these commonly used words and phrases.
On the iPhone, go into settings and then general and then select keyboard.
From there, you can add short cuts.
Maybe wanna use the code EML for your e-mail address.
So now, every time you type EML, your complete e-mail address will be entered.
Same goes for someone's initials in place of their full name.

This can really be a huge time saver and efficiency booster and you won't have to worry about mis spellings on important names or details, like your phone number.
You can also do the same on an Android phone.
Go to settings, the language and keyboard settings and then multi touch keyboard settings can make your changes.
