Super73 S2 vs. Super73 RX electric bikes: Is the RX worth the extra $800?

Cars
[NOISE] [MUSIC] No, there's a lot of you out there stuck in between buying the Super 73S2 and the Super 73Rx which we have right here. I mean, I endlessly go in between which one would be a better person. Our answer is two. I have no idea which one I should get. Thinking that's two. Definitely getting the RX. Who you call as a Piney hat? Yeah, I'm getting that too. [MUSIC] What do you think? Which one should I get? So, in my book, The SU is more of an urban ebike whereas the RX is more framed as an off roader. But at the end of the day, both these bikes are nearly identical. Which begs me the question is the RX even worth that extra cost? I've had some time with both bikes now. So let's put them side to side and see which one is ultimately a better purchase. [MUSIC] So let's talk about the similarities first. Both bikes are fitted with 960 watt hour batteries with an estimated range from 40 to 75 plus miles. That's very dependent on ride mode and train. But in general, these bikes easily get me where I need to go. In addition, both bikes have the same motor The power ranges from 750 watts in the low eco pedal assist mode to 2000 watts in unlimited mode. Lastly, we have the same displays operating system ride modes including classes 1 2 3 and unlimited mode. Also the tires are the same. You would think the RX would come with a different set of tires with more aggressive tread. But it comes with the same badger alternating tires as the s two more trail oriented tires can be bought separately. The major differences here are the suspension chain tensioner weight, brakes and price to take on more demanding train the arcs is fitted with a front rear suspension. On the front we have an adjustable shock with 120 millimeters of travel and 35 millimeter stanchions. In the rear, we have a coil over piggyback mono-shock with adjustable preload compression and rebound dampening the chain tensioners in response to the rear suspension of the RX. It helps the chain maintain tension with the rear suspensions movement on the S two, we just have a front suspension. It's an adjustable air spring fork with 120 millimeters of travel. And at 32 millimeter stanchion. The RX weighs 80 pounds and s two weighs 73 pounds. The RX being heavier and more performance driven is fitted with a larger brake setup. The RX has the texture hydraulic four piston aluminum forged calipers children three millimeter rotors on the front wheel and 180 millimeter rotors and the rear wheel. The s two has the tech show hydraulic two piston forged aluminum calipers with 180 millimeter rotors on the. Front and rear wheels. As for the price, the RX cost $3,495 and s two costs $2,695. That's an $800 price difference. Lastly, there's some minor causes Dramatic differences here. bikes have different lights, fenders and seats. I do dig the arcs and seat a bit more because I think it's more comfortable. There's lots of fancy verbiage and numbers here but these bikes are more likely than not. The only real difference here is the rear shock. [MUSIC] Everything else is just fluff. All right, let's cue the time lapse. [MUSIC] So I forgot to mention the arts as a horn, the Sq doesn't have a horn. Key loud two G's Ain't nobody getting in your way. Overall, both the RX and st are great for commuting and around town cruising. It's really nice to be able to jump on one of these and go run a quick errand or go grab a burrito and skip the delivery charge. The RX is just a little bit smoother around town with that risk Suspension. As I said earlier, the art is more framed as an off road vehicle. But when it comes to actually hitting the dirt or issues with the riding position and the power, so riding on bumpier terrain and having to stand up while doing so, I find that my legs are far too close to the bars. I just think about how a BMX or rides or how a dirt bike or ride, they're in a more stressed out position with their foot pegs or pedals beneath their hips. But here on the RX, my legs sit out way in front of me. So that puts me really close to the bars. In that position, I have less leverage to move the bike around. Not good. Lastly, there's the power issue. There's just not enough of it to do anything too serious off road and if you're stuck at the bottom of the hill with zero momentum, yeah you're not gonna make it up that hill. You're gonna have to frog-leg it. Nobody likes the frog legged. I do talk about this a whole lot more in my film, so be sure to check that out after this. To make the RX more of a serious off roader, super 73 needs to look at the pedal positioning or getting rid of the pedals all together. How cool would it be to just have some footpegs here? I mean, there might be some legal issues there but I'm not sure Also there needs to be more power and more torque. [MUSIC] So the S two is 90% of the RX. They're like fraternal twins. Super 73 is the womb and they're just two different eggs. If you do buy the RX you're buying it for a little extra comfort. Don't get me wrong, this thing is a blast. I had a great time popping off curbs and riding it around. But as soon as you get into some rougher terrain and some hills, both these bikes begin to struggle So it's best to stay on some hard packed dirt or on the streets. At the end of the day, the RX is mostly a look it's only slightly better at jumping around. I do have to say I dig the design and I love the color here. What I especially love about the super 70 threes is the size of them. But ultimately the SU can do all the same things that the RX can. So save yourself $800 and buy the s two and with that extra cash go buy some burritos. You can buy me one, two, extra hot sauce, pour four
