StubHub partners with SF Giants on mobile ticketing
Tech Industry
-Hi, I'm Boonsri Dickinson for CNET.
I'm here at the San Francisco Giants Stadium with the staff and crew.
They're gonna show me how fans can now get their tickets on their mobile phone.
Can you tell me how the technology works?
-Basically, you download a simple and convenient mobile app and with that app, you can buy tickets and one of the services that we provide is that you download a ticket on your mobile and you walk in.
-So, it's not exactly paperless because when you walk through, they'll give you receipt.
Why is that needed for this?
-Well, the receipt is important for you to get around the venue and especially if you do have friends and you bought multiple tickets, everyone can basically have their own way and can go on their merry way to restaurants and bathrooms and you don't need to share your phone.
-Can the old scanners work?
Or, is there a new type of scanner for this?
-There is a new type of scanner that is needed for the mobile ticketing.
I believe it's going to be
the new scanners across and it's gonna be used across all teams, all venues at some point in time because mobile ticketing is convenient for our fans.
-Well, I guess I won't have to worry about leaving my tickets at home.
