Get ready for more hype about folding smartphones. Because China's Xiaomi just dropped a video of the coolest folding smartphone screen we've seen yet. One that has a double fold. In this video shared online, Xiaomi president and co-founder Ben Lin, folds both sides down like wing flaps to make the tablet into something that's more like smart phone. Those flaps are flat to the back of the phone, there's no curvy gap or bulge at the bend points. Now on bends Webo account he asks his followers for feedback on the prototype So, we don't know this is an official product yet. He also says Shami is considering two different names and may call it the duel flex or the mix flex. Looks like 2019 will be the year of the folding screen phone with Samsung soon to reveal more about it's phone with a bendy screen. The company gave us just a teaser in the shadows of the stage reveal back in November. It's rumored to be called the Galaxy X. But let's play it again. It's actually two different screens, a small candy bar shaped screen when it's closed. And inside, it opens up with a large tablet screen. Now it's possible we may learn more about this soon at the Samsung Unpacked Event. On February 20th. Going back to the Xiaomi double folding phone, it is better than anything seen on teased yet. It's one screen that readjusts the orientation and layout when folded. It would be great if the company let us see it for ourselves at Mobile World Congress. That's the big tech trade show that happens in Spain at the end of February. But Samsung and [UNKNOWN] are not the first in this space. Back in Novemebr we got up close with another folding screen phone by a smaller company. The Royale Flex Pi. This is available now for developers. It's screen is made of a flexible plastic but As you can see, it has a bit of a bulge at the joint like a wallet or binder. Other phone makers are tinkering in this space, it was recently discovered that Lenovo filed a patent application for how it would make a tablet with its folding screen. So this is just the beginning. I'm [UNKNOWN] Carrie, let us know in the comments if this trend has you excited about the future? Or is it a fad that's leading you bent out of shape?
