There could be five new iPhones in 2020 and touch ID might be making a comeback. Let's break down all the rumors on this week's apple Call. [MUSIC] Ever since the iPhone six plus, Apple's been slowly adding different size and spec options to its iPhone lineup. Now next year there might not be three but four iPhone 12 models to choose from. So right now obviously there's three sizes the 5.8 inches on the 11 pro 6.1 inches for the iPhone 11. And 6.5 inches for the iPhone 11 promax. But a new report this week from JP Morgan analyst simek chatter cited by MacRumors says that next year's iPhone range might get a bit of a shake up. So a small up 5.4 inch model to 6.1 inch phones and a giant 6.7 inch phone Given the size, it's safe to guess these will both be called the iPhone 12. Then the more expensive phones will be that other 6.1 inch model and the 6.7 inch phone. So maybe the 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max. Here is a nice graphic from the Apple Hub on Twitter to sum it all up for you. The report also says that these two higher-end phones will get all the extra bells and whistles, including 5G millimeter wave support and a new camera that has a, quote, world-facing 3D sensor. I would assume that this is referring to the rumored time-of-flight sensor that might be coming to next year's iPhones to help capture some depth information. And don't worry, we're still on track to get 5G and all these new phones just that the cheaper options may be limited to the sub six gigahertz spectrum. But Weiss I mentioned five new iPhones in the intro. Now the second coming of the iPhone SE is also expected. In the first half of 2020 now this is Apple's cheaper entry level phone which we expect to look a lot like the 4.7 inch iPhone eight, except it will now add be a 13 bionic chip and maybe hit a magic price point of around 400 US dollars Make sure to watch the episode linked in the description and up top if you wanna find out more about that one. More big news for touch ID fans is that it might be ready to make a comeback. New reports this week claim that Apple's going to use Qualcomm's ultra sonic fingerprint sensor in at least one of those new iPhones. Although it says that that timeframe might also get pushed back to 2021. In screen fingerprint has really took off with the Galaxy X10, and Note 10 phones that use the current version of Qualcomm's ultrasonic radar. Although some other previous android phones have also used optical sensors [INAUDIBLE] And coincidentally, this week at Qualcomm's Big Tech Conference in Hawaii, the company unveiled a 30 by 20 millimeter in-screen meter called the 3D Sonic Max, which is 17 Times larger than the one in the S10. So let's have accuracy responsiveness and speed or get a boost as well. And also not being able to unlock someone else's fine with your fingerprint. That'd be pretty good too. Anyway, it's time for you to start putting together your ultimate iPhone 12 tool pro, tool pro Maxwell for ultimax whatever it's going to be called wish list. So please leave me your comments. For me. I'm hoping for high refresh rate oleds USBC, and maybe a free puppy with every sorry. I'll read some of your suggestions on next week's show. Are you sick of iPhones yet? Good, me too. So I'm gonna change things up and switch to the new display technology called mini LED that's now set to make an appearance on the MacBook Pro next year. So a few weeks ago we found out that the 2020 iPad Pro might be getting this new screen technology. And king of Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo now says it's also coming to the 16 inch MacBook Pro For now, unfortunately, there's only a cryptic marketing like claim that micro LED will significantly improve productivity and the entertainment experience. I mean, yeah, like how much better can the morning show look? What we do know about mini LED is that like OLEDs It opens a wide color gamut high contrast, great dynamic range and deep blacks and their teeny tiny at one 100th the size of a traditional LED backlight. Now Corps Report has also been a guest verified by supply chain reports. Setting that GIS will be one of the big screen makers involved. So watch this space. Did you snag a pair of airports over Black Friday or Cyber Monday? Well, according to one report, Apple sold 3 million of them over the weekend. That's kind of crazy. Now the company doesn't actually reveal sales numbers anymore. So All we have to go off is predictions like this one and speculation. But one things for sure, it's going to be a very happy Christmas for Tim Cook. And one more tidbit I couldn't help but share in this weeks show is that Apple has been awarded a patent for, get this, a bench for the Apple store. A bench, okay. Thanks for watching this week's show. And make sure to leave me a comment with your wish list for the iPhone 12 and I'll read your suggestions on next week's episode. [MUSIC]
