Vine might be saved by Pornhub? Let's back up a little and talk about the demise of Vine. Twitter bought the company back in 2012 to the tune of $30 million. Vine started off as a place to share short six second videos that would Loop. It was described as the Twitter of video, short-form video content that was easily digestible. In not too much time, Vine was a top app in the Apple App Store. Over the course of Vine's life, new internet stars were born through the service, but it did not really change too much over its short life. The biggest change occurred earlier this year, when Vine announced it would allow some users to upload videos, up to 140 seconds long. Other partners were able to upload videos that lasted up to ten minutes. Fast forward to this week and Vine announced it's mobile app was going bye bye. A blog post said in the coming months vine will be discontinuing the mobile app. There was no exact time table when the app would no longer exist though. However, Vine said that any videos made using vine would still be accessible online. Users of Vine will receive notifications if anything else changes. Now the every new story goes is time to talk about Porn hub and what is likely a publicity stand, Porn hub VP Corey Price offered to purchase Vine from Twitter. Price Says that if his company obtains vine, vine would be restored back to its NSFW glory. Franks also says six seconds is more than enough time for most people to enjoy themselves. Will twitter take the bait? Is the offer even serious? I'm gonna let them sort it out. Anyway, that's it for this tech news update.
