Dozens of case makers come to CES every year to show off their cases that protect your phone when this happens.
Whoa.
Whoa.
Whoa, nice bounce.
But how much can they handle?
We challenged these case makers to a live drop test at CES.
With ratings from 4.5 to 16 feet, these companies put their own iPhone Xs on the line to prove that Claim, and push their limits.
From bumpers to covers to massive cases, we had it all.
Cases that came with a screen or back protector in the box were allowed.
Round 1, we dropped them from the height the case maker said.
There's no way to keep every drop consistent so bare in mind, this is not a scientific test.
Starting off the group was Caseology at four and a half feet.
Three, two, one, drop.

Then, Vanessa got on the scisor lift and went to nine feet.

Round Two.
At this point, they have already proven the claim.
So we're pushing them beyond their rating to find a winner.
We dropped them from 16 feet.
