Amazon is probably working on a new Echo with a screen. According to a person familiar with the plans, this new Echo is codenamed Knight, and could officially be revealed next month. This follows a flurry of rumors in 2016 that said Knight may use the same operating system as the Fire tablet. The tablet and Fire TV already have Alexa enabled. The person familiar with the plans couldn't confirm to CNET whether or not it was a touch Screen. Regardless, the screen could feasibly be used for anything from video chats to shopping and would give this Echo the edge against rival Voice Assistant. Google home recently added support for understanding multiple uses, something that the Amazon devices can't do yet. The Echo family is getting pretty big. And it's becoming obvious that Amazon wants to be in every room of your home. The Screen Echo could live in your kitchen sending you recipes, and checking the news. Then there's the original Echo, Echo Dot and Amazon Tap that can hang out in your living and dining room. And the Echo Look is chilling in the bedroom. It's a camera with Alexa built-in that dispense fashion advice based on your full-length selfie. No word yet on whether the screen Echo will be as judgemental. We'll find out more when the device is official as soon as next month.
