[MUSIC] Here at CES 2020 in Las Vegas, we're checking out a really cool piece of kitchen technology. Is actually device that replaces the traditional garbage disposal. So instead of having a lot of food waste and stuff go down your disposal and out of your house this thing actually routes Your liquids and your solid foods separately. So it hooks up in theory just like a normal garbage disposal hook up. It's supposed to be pretty simple. That seems a little intimidating, a little scary to me but the guy tells me it's pretty easy. And then it actually has a separate drain that takes your liquids and then your solids just go straight down in to this bin below. He says that it doesn't have any odors, you can keep the food in there for up to a month, it'll tell you when it's full and you can take it to your composer outside Or if you have a curve side pick up where you live, you can have it set on to your curve and it'll pick up the food for you so you're not dealing with as much food waste as you otherwise would. So this right here is actually indicator it means that the bin is full and that you're ready to take out the food so that you don't have to keep checking it opening and closing and to see if it's full and ready to be emptied. So you just do when it reaches for full bars, you open the machine, you take out the pin, hopefully with a little more grace than that it would be full of food and then you can take Take it to your compost in your backyard or wherever or to your curbside pick up if they have that in your area. Seems like a really handy, convenient way to not waste a lot of food. And the thing that is really interesting is that he said a carbon filter on the top actually mitigates any food smells so you can leave this in here in theory. He said for about a month. Seems like a long time and that your food would get kinda stinky in there. But he said the carbon filter actually mitigates that so that you're not dealing with any weird odors. And then again, You have a separate sink hookup that takes the liquid waste separately, and takes it through your plumbing like it regularly would. So then you just, once you empty it, you just put it back in, and then it resets. In order to get your leftover food into the bin, all you have to do is press this button that you The amount on the top of your counter top. And then it'll separate so that it's not the liquid waste going through to your other system, it's your leftovers going into the bin itself. So you just put it in, it goes straight into the bin. And then again, it just sits there for a month, or however long it takes to fill it up. When these bars light up, then you take it out. It seems pretty simple, and kind of a convenient way to avoid food waste. I think this is a really smart solution. It cost 340 bucks, it's called sapiro by Andy technologies and it's available now on their website. [MUSIC]
