Hello everybody. I am at the Google booth at CES and as you can see, this is the Google Assistant ride. This is one of the most talked about things at the show. Inside the Google booth is as you can see, a roller coaster styled ride. It's not a scary roller coaster. It's a very tame one but it's very, very cute. And we're gonna take you inside and show you all about it, so inside the booth is all about the Google Assistant this year in lots of different devices from cars to phones to smart speakers, and when we go through the ride you'll actually get to see a lot of characters talking through the assistant, we're gonna get in line, wait our turn, we can't get one all to ourselves, are we gonna get one all to ourselves? Josh from Google is here with me, We're getting trained. We will get a train to ourselves so all our audiance can enjoy it intimately. I am so excited to go through this. So tell me all about the assistant this year. It's big at google so what is the story with the assistant on cross devices. Like what is this story going to tell us today. Yeah absolutely. Well in 2018 you probably heard a lot of us talk about It was our welcome party basically to all consumers. I would say for 2019 one thing that we really wanna focus on is really core use cases. So thinking about how this assistant could be really helpful throughout your day especially for the home, in the car, and on your go in your mobile device. So I think if you had to step a little bit backwards and kind of look at our list of product launches this year. It was really focused on those core use cases but really going back to the basics and saying How can the assistant actually benefit you on a daily basis? So we started off with a really cute little intro of a dad asleep in the bed. We're gonna get into the roller coaster car now and kind of set the scene. All right, let's get ready. Are you ready to do this? You can't do that. All right, We're about to go through the ride. It's gonna be exciting. It's okay, we're just repositioning our camera. It's all good. It's all good. So, we're gonna go through the ride. We're gonna see and hear all about the Google Assistant. It's really cute. Let me tell you, it's really, really cute. So, elsewhere in the Google group, I notice theree's a lot of focus on the interpreter as part of the Google Assistant. Now this is kinda cool, you can basically talk to it in one language, and it spits out in another? Yeah, you know, one of my favorite things about interpreter mode, it really brings together all the advancements that you've been seeing with the Google Assistant over the last few years. Really bringing together our advancements in natural language and voice technology, but then also combining it with a screen. And I think when you bring those two things together, you get a really comprehensive idea of what a natural conversation would be like with the Google Assistant. What's really powerful here, I think, especially is a lot of our own Executives would maybe travel to Japan, or travel to Vietnam. And often times those always sometimes a language barrier with people that you would meet. And I think interpreter would, is such a real time natural feel for a lot of attendees. And I think its going to be a really powerful experience for people to enjoy. So we're gonna see a little demo of the interpreter mode later, but I'm just gonna talk you through what we're seeing here. It's the assistant leading us through our day. So it's just said, hey Google, take me to the bakery and now the directions have popped up on the screen in the car. And all of the characters are moving. It's driving the car! It's super cute! So how long did this all take to put together? This whole ride? It's so amazing and big. Yeah so obviously as we can imagine we had to foresee as far in advance and this is one of most magical moments that we really thought about and concepted like how can we really show users throughout the entirety of their day where the assistant could play a strong role. Obviously because you can imagine a booth is normally really great. Right, when you take them along on ride like this and you tell a story it makes it much more enjoyable. Exactly and it's like lights are flashing. We have telegraph poles being knocked over on this side here and then this is the showstopper. Turn the camera right around because we get to see the outside of the Las Vegas Convention Center. Look at that view We get to see all of the action happening and wait let's smile there is a photo happening right now on this camera smile, [SOUND] [LAUGH] So we just smiled and did a photo on that camera and then we are gonna scan our badges when we get to the end and get that photo. Absolutely. So this is what you were talking about earlier with the interpreter man. Let's spin around and take a look Here. [BLANK_AUDIO] They didn't get Google comment. So we've just asked the assistant to be our French interpreter to understand how to get macaroon. Yeah, absolutely. One thing, our booth is three times larger this year than last year. And being these kind of experience I think it'll make it really exciting for a lot of attendees here. Look the macarons were talking. I don't know if you saw that but the macarons were talking. So that was really cute. Now it's dark and the lights, quite it's night time. [LAUGH] [NOISE] [CROSSTALK] More photo moments on this side over here. Taking a group selfie, that's a nod to the pixel three and the jewel front cameras. You can take a really wide selfie, say cheese! [UNKNOWN] Everyone look this way. We did a big groupie. I think that's the word for a collection. Absolutely, absolutely. That was pretty fun just going through the little google roller coaster and getting this story leading you through the day And I really liked at the start when you walked through and see that sleeping demo to like lead you in. It was like, this is a ride and a part marketing demo. So I appreciate that, it was like a little marketing stunt and I love it. Great, and thank you so much for joining us on the ride. Yeah, is was so much fun on the ride, thanks for joining us. Wow, okay, let's step off on the roller coaster, let some other attendees Get on the ride. That's being the Google assistant ride at CS 2018. Stay tuned for more after this.
