Intel's new devices group has been quietly working on a pair of smartglasses dubbed Vaunt, which looks surprisingly fashionable, especially compared to prototype glasses we've seen before. Instead of using a screen, these glasses use a low power red laser to beam images onto your retina. Intel plans to offer them to developers in an early access program later this year. The first phone with a diamond screen will arrive in 2019. Using lab grown diamonds [UNKNOWN] semiconductor wants to insert random nanocrystal patterns into the glass that protects your phone screen. Doing so discourages deep cracks from forming. Material is also harder than sapphire crystal, but easy enough to be used in conjunction with materials like gorilla glass. And finally Continental and Nvidia are teaming up to introduce a new platform for self-driving cars. Continental will make use of Nvidia's drive AI chipset, which it plans on introducing to the market In 2021 Nvidia already has partnerships with Toyota Volkswagen Uber Audi and others.
