Alexa has left the home and entered the vehicle. This Ford Focus is one of the first cars with Alexa integration. Now, it's not actually baked into the car itself. It's using the Alexa app on a mobile device that you can just connect via USB or traditional bluetooth to the infotainment system. So what exactly can Alexa do outside of the home? Let's take a look. [SOUND] Please say a command. Alexa. [SOUND] Alexa. Find the nearest Starbucks. [BLANK_AUDIO] Based on your zip code setting, I found a Starbucks Coffee nearby. It's 2.8 miles away on South Las Vegas Boulevard in Las Vegas. It's open now until 1:00 AM. To get more accurate results, go to the Alexa app and enter your address. She's very chatty. Now all I have to do is confirm on the screen, press start, and it's in my navigation Ignition system. Now this would be extremely helpful in states, like California, which have completely banned the use of mobile devices inside of the car. So everything has to be hands-free. And, of course, you can also communicate to Alexa if you have an Echo back home. So I can ask it to turn on my lights or close my garage door, but you could already do that with the Alexa app on your phone. It's just Now it's cool to talk to your car. The other great thing is that you won't need to go out and buy a new Amazon Echo or a new car because at launch this will be available for any Ford or Lincoln vehicle running the Sync 3 Infotainment System. First, Lincoln and Ford, but may be coming to other cars as well with the update to the app for iOS and Android.
