Amazon Alexa is moving into the mobile world. The voice controlled personal system is coming to some Amazon Fire tablets as a software update. And that includes a new tablet just announced, the upgraded Fire HD8. This new Fire HD 8 ships in two weeks on September 21st. It improves the performance of the old model and improves the price. It's only $90. That's 60 bucks cheaper than the previous version which had half the storage. But aside from crazy low prices Putting Alexa on the tablet may be the biggest feature. Right now, Alexa can only be found on the smart speakers, like the Echo, and also on the Fire TV. Amazon has not said exactly when the Alexa Assistant is arriving on tablets, only that the software update will be In the coming months. But this likely will not be the end of her expansion into more devices. Executives at Lenovo have been talking to Amazon about the possibility of getting the assistant on PCs.
