Hi everyone, Rick the Cheapskate Broida here with another great way to save money.
Every month you have to pay to use your phone.
So why not let your phone pay you back a little?
It can, thanks to a growing number of app-powered cashback services, you can use while out and about.
Let's take a look at three I've been testing recently.
DOSH is similar to cash back services like Ebates, except it links directly to your credit card.
So you use the DOSH app to find local and online businesses offering cash back Then just shop and dine like you normally would.
Right now, for example, DOSH is offering 10% back when you eat at Denny's, and 5% at Forever 21.
DOSH payouts can be donated to charity or routed directly to your bank or a Paypal account.
Drop earns you reward points you can redeem for gift cards.
Those points can come from places like Starbucks, Target, Whole Foods and Uber.
Like Dash, you just link a credit card and shop like you normally would.
So every time you order that venti peppermint mocha, you're earning points, super easy.
The Drop app does tend to bug you a bit with additional offers but you can always turn off notifications if those get too annoying.
Finally, if you use Yelp to find great restaurants Sign up for Yelp's cash back option.
Just link your credit card, then filter your Yelp's searches to include restaurants that have a cash back option.
This is great for travel but I've also used this in my hometown to save as much as 10% at restaurants where I eat regularly.
And, that's it.
As long as you're willing to link one or more credit cards to these apps And share your transaction data with the company, you can get additional savings and rewards on top of whatever cash back you're already earning from those cards, double dip for the win.
