Walking around San Francisco you can see a lot of scooters have been vandalized.
Some have missing handlebars.
Some have their breaks clipped.
And then there's been all these rumors floating around Twitter that they've been smeared in poop.
They've been thrown into San Francisco Bay.
People are really taking their anger out on these scooters.
It's unclear who's doing it.
It could be people that are mad, that the streets are so filled with scooters.
And it could just be kids having fun, and then, you know, being kid vandals.
Scooter companies say that it's not actually as bigger problem as it seems, they definitely have repairs that they are doing, one company Bird is outsourcing repairs to Gigaconomy Mechanics, and so thy have people going around And collecting the scooters and then fixing them for a small fee.
San Francisco has been grappling with what to do with this influx of scooters and so regulators have passed a new law, it goes into affect on June 4th.
And during the time that the law goes into affect the city will be issuing permits for the companies.
And so the scooters are gonna disappear.
For two to four weeks in San Francisco.
But then they'll be coming back and there's gonna be a lot of them.
