Out of the entire field of two Dolby Atmos sound bars on the market, the Samsung HW-K950 is definitely the best.
It's got superior features and performs better than its rival, the Yamaha YSP-5600.
And I'd say the Samsung is actually one of the best sound bars of any kind I've ever heard.
The downside is it's also $1,200.
The HWK950 is a serious home theatre sound bar.
It has dedicated up firing front and surround speakers for Dolby [UNKNOWN] effects.
The rear speakers are wireless and so is the add on subwoofer.
Their all designed to pair automatically as soon as you plug the system in.
The Samsung will take 4K compatible HDMI inputs Bluetooth as well as wi-fi streaming via the companies multi room app.
It's one of the best apps out there, and includes streaming from your phone or your network, as well as Pandora, Spotify, and even Tidal.
Sound quality is excellent.
While you won't be able to listen to DTS soundtracks in surround, the system makes the most of Dolby and Atmos scores instead.
It really creates a big bubble of sound with excellent steering around your room.
Music is even better with one of the most natural sounding performances I've ever heard from a speaker like this.
If you have the money, and can live with limited DTS support, the Samsung is our new favorite high-end sound bar.
