>> Hi I'm Jasmine France, senior associate editor for CNET.com and I am here today with the Samsung U3. Now this is proof that a basic, inexpensive MP3 player need not be ugly or featureless. As you can see this is a pretty cute MP3 player, it comes in this nice bright green color, which I think makes it look like a six pack of double mint gum, but you can also get it in pink, blue and black. It comes in 2 GB capacity for $80, so it is a cheap MP3 player and yet you still get a decent array of features on here, it has an FM radio built in with auto scan and presets. You also have a mic on board for making voice recordings and it even supports [inaudible] tracks and subscription WMA. As you can see not the biggest display here nor is it color, but you don't really need that with the player this size. Also you have some touch sensitive controls over here which not everybody will like but you know, you get used to it. And you have the hold switch here which will prevent you from activating it when you have it in a pocket, a very important with the touch sensitive controls strip. The player actually has this nice kind of texturized coating which makes the touch strip a little bit easier to use I think. On the top side here you have the tactile play, pause, power key along with a record user to find button which you can set to various functions on the device. In along with the aforementioned hold switch here on the bottom, you have the USB interface switch, so you have this nice built in USB interface. On the other side here you have the standard headphone jack and it's kind of cool, light up the LED piece on the side which I think gives it an over all designing look. The player even comes with ear buds that match the device itself and a cord manager which I think is just a nice thing to include with such a cheap MP3 player, I wouldn't expect them to include any extras. Finally they also include a removable clear belt clip here, which also will come in handy if you are taking it to the gym. The one complaint I really had about this player is the sound quality isn't that great, but considering the cool design, the cheap price point in the handy extras that you get with it, I still think it's a worthwhile player. I'm Jasmine France and this has been the Samsung U3.
