>> Hi, I'm Kevin Massey at CES 2008, taking a first look at the Pioneer Avic [assumed spelling] F500BT. Well the Pioneer link. Now the unit we have on display here at CES 2008 is actually a mockup. Pioneer is still working on the final model, but we're told that this is a very accurate representation of what the product will look like when it ships. It's got all of the features of your standard standalone GPS PND. It is also a multimedia player. It's got inputs for SD cards, also you can play media from iPods via a USB input on the side. Now the differentiating features of this device are two-fold. Firstly, it comes pre-loaded with Voice Box voice recognition software, which in contrast to other voice recognition software allows you to make phone commands and iPod commands in a very natural, conversational way. The second differentiating feature of this is that it's a so-called hybrid device. It can be attached to a car's dashboard, giving it the integration of an in-dash unit. The Pioneer Avic F500BT is gonna ship in March of this year, price is still yet to be determined. But this system promises to take voice command and voice recognition in the car to a whole new level.
