Philips Prestigo SRU8015
>> Hey what's going on everyone, I'm Jeff Bakalar for CNET.com today we're checking out the Philips Prestigo SRU8015. Now the 8015
is a universal remote control that you can control up to 15 devices with. It can also actually be programmed for up to 15 activities
as well. The remote is pretty simple to use but setting it up can be quite tedious. You'll need to point the remote at your devices
as it cycles through dozens and dozens of codes which got really annoying after a while. The biggest difference between this model
and the previous Prestigo is the rotary wheel in the center of the remote. Now at first we thought it'd be a great way to control
most of the settings but we wound up very unhappy with the wheel's performance. For some reason or another the software doesn't respond
to how quickly you can scroll which made for a very awkward experience. Almost every button on the remote can be switched or changed
and you can actually program devices that aren't necessarily in the remote's database. There's a lot of buttons to use we just wish
they weren't positioned so close to one another. Overall we still like the Harmony Logitech control of doing a software-based programming
but if you don't want to use your computer to set up your remote this is unfortunately just a mediocre alternative. I'm Jeff Bakalar
and this has been the Philips Prestigo SRU8015.
