Facebook still wants more people in VR, but it hasn't happened yet.
The Oculus Quest could be the best way forward.
The new stand alone VR headset is coming next Spring for $399.
The self contained hardware aims to be a more full motion VR game console, with more advanced tracking and controllers than the Oculus Kill a scout.
It's twice the price too, but it promises games and graphics that feel PC and game console like, including a new Star Wars game created by ILMxLAB starring Darth Vader.
You may wonder why I have brought you here.
Oculus Quest will ship with about 50 games According to Facebook.
And its full motion controllers have game console like analog sticks and buttons.
Much like the PC connected Oculus Rift.
The Oculus Quest has six degrees of freedom tracking be a four wide angle cameras in the headset.
That can map out a room, and track where the controllers are.
Full room tracking...
The game will come with safety based boundaries [UNKNOWN] But because there are no wires, you can wander anywhere.
It looks like the most ready player one like VR hardware ever.
What struck me about the press is the quality of the experience
I'm able to move around pretty comfortably.
I don't have to worry about it.
And the games seem like they're much higher quality.
The other thing is the hand controllers.
I really am able to reach out and touch the world, grab things, interact with it.
It's really interesting.
