>> Hi. I'm Josh Goldman, and this is the Nikon CoolPix S630. It's a 12-megapixel camera with a 7X optical zoom squeezed into a fairly compact body. It's available in five colors, and we really like the design, especially this big thumb rest that makes shooting one handed much easier. Also nice is the scroll wheel and directional pad combo that lets you zip through menus as fast or as slow as you want. The S630 doesn't have too many shooting options, so if you're looking to get really creative, this isn't the best camera; however, it has taking simple snapshots down cold. And you do get some basic controls for things like ISO exposure, auto focus, and even some color effects. Our biggest complaints about the S630 are that it isn't all that fast. It takes about four seconds to start up, for example. And photos can look over processed and soft. But if all you're after is a little extra zoom range without sacrificing portability, this is an option worth considering. I'm Josh Goldman, and that's the Nikon CoolPix S630.
