The next major Windows' update is coming, April 30th.
Previously known as Windows 10 Spring Creator's update, it's new name is Windows 10 April 2018 update.
The name is certainly descriptive to say the least.
The first day you'll be able to download the 2018 update is the last day of April, April 30th.
A broad rollout will follow on May 8th.
The April 2018 update is a free upgrade for Windows 10 users.
The big features for the April update have been known for some time now.
For people who want to block out distractions when they're working, the update includes focus assist, it's essentially a do not disturb function, which will mute notifications.
You can also set rules on when notifications can always appear.
If you run into a noisy website, there is now a feature to mute a tab in Microsoft Edge.
Sharing content with nearby machines is a lot easier.
Both machines need to be running Windows 10 with the April update and have Bluetooth turned on.
If that's the case, you'll be able to share files or other stuff with a nearby computer.
Finding whatever you've been working on is supposed to be a lot easier with the April 2018 update.
The timeline feature will keep track of your work for the past 30 days.
When you hit the task icon next to Cortana, you'll see a history of the apps you ran.
Timeline is also searchable.
The feature can be turned off in settings if you don't want it.
Microsoft's virtual assistant, Cortana, gets some upgrades with the Apple 2018 update.
You'll be able to control your smarthome with your PC using your voice.
No smart speaker necessary.
