Welcome to CNET Top 5, where each time we meet we count down another tantalizing
CNET list. I'm Tom Merritt.
For the last time in 2008, we take a look at what product reviews you've been eyeballing
the most. What gadgets exit the year dominating your attention.
Let's count down the Top 5 most popular products.
At No. 5, the Google phone, also known as the HTC Dream T-Mobile G1 or... Google
phone. It's not even pretty, but the operating system and apps are. And you love it.
Coming in at No. 4, the LG Dare. As the darling of Verizon users begins to fall down our
list, let's give it one last salute. It's the smartphone that outlasted the fleeting blaze of the
iPhone 3G. Well done Dare. Well done.
But the phones just keep on coming. At No. 3, the HTC Touch Pro. This phone means
business for Sprint users. That's why it has full QWERTY keyboard see. All business
see. But it still has a touch screen. Without it, apparently you wouldn't be interested.
Sliding in at No. 2, the BlackBerry Storm. The new heartthrob for Verizon users. But it
has no Wi-Fi. Maybe that's what keeps it out of the top spot, which is occupied by...
Something else. But before we get to No. 1, let's look at the products that didn't make the
Top 5. Oh that's where all the not phones are. And the iPhone.
All right. Let's get to our No. 1. Will it be a clean sweep? All phones in the Top 5?
At No. 1, It's...yes! the BlackBerry Bold. A well-rounded phone, as Bonnie Cha calls it.
One that has a brilliant display, enhanced productivity tools, and excellent multimedia
performance. And it has Wi-Fi. It's not only the most popular AT&T phone, it's the most
popular phone among CNET users.
Well That's it for this edition of CNET Top 5. All phones. Think some other product
should have made our Top 5? Well you make this list based on your page views. So go
look at some reviews already at CNET.com.
I'm Tom Merritt. See you next time.
