Greeting citizens of the internet.
Welcome to Tomorrow Daily, the best talk show in the known universe.
I have the lovely Vanna White next to me.
I'm Jeff Cannata.
And I'm Ashley Esqueda.
Are you guys ready for some rapid fire headlines?
Let's hit it!
Hey
It turns out Virgin Galactic is ready to jump back into private space travel business.
They introduced a new spaceship late last week, let's take a look.
SpaceShip Two crashed in October 2014, tragically killing one of the pilots on board and setting Virgin Galactic's efforts back in their vision of commercial spaceflight.
The VSS Unity carry six passengers and two pilots.
And will undergo various tests both on the ground and in the air before it's cleared to make a rocket-powered trip to an altitude of 50 miles.
Safety measures have been implemented into the VSS Unity to prevent the same kind of accident that occurred in 2014.
Stephen Hawking himself was there to christen this new space ship.
He hopes that it brings a new unity to space travel.
And if Stephen Hawking's for it, I'm for it.
Yeah, no, I'm all about it.
And good for them.
I know this is a very stressful thing for them.
So I think this is a good thing.
You gotta move forward.
It's the kind of thing where, otherwise, the pilots died in vain.
The whole reason you're a test pilot is to move things forward.
That's right.
Okay, so our next story MIT has just proved you don't have to be Poseidon to control water.
Technically I should say the shape of water as the MIT media lab Tangible Media Group introduced us to its newest creation, HydroMorph.
Which they describe as quote, a dynamic spatial water membrane, unquote.
In a nutshell, the device allows the team to create custom water flows and change the shapes depending on the goal So on the surface this looks really cool, but seems almost completely useless.
However, the HydroMorph team had a really great idea for using this technology, which was showing a blooming or a wilted flower depending on if that particular water was drinkable.
You can check out the entire setup over at media.mit.edu if you are so inclined.
And honestly, As I said, seem useless, but they actually have a lot of really good ideas for this type of technology.
I think this might be a really interesting topic to dive into on Thursday.
I think this is fascinating.
And really, the future of water is, I think, the future of our planet because we're gonna Run into some big water problems coming up.
That's a good point.
And these kind of technologies might be the answer.
They mentioned a rage face.
If you use too much water, they show you a mad face.
Arg, don't use too much water.
What do you think about space travel?
Commercial space travel is [CROSSTALK] You know what?
Why don't you guys talk about both and we'll surprise you on Thursday?
I think we'll surprise people.
Just mix it up.
Sounds good.
So you can always involve yourself in the conversation by using our #HEYTD on Twitter.
Come yell at us.
Come talk to us about the topics we talked about today, and if we liked your tweet and you make some interesting points, We might include them on Thursday's long show.
Hey that brings us to the next part of the show and that's the phonetographer of the day.
[MUSIC]
Today's phonetographer is Juan who took this with his MotoG3.
Yeah, Juan wrote to us and said, hey guys, took this unedited picture with my MotoG3 on vacation in Uruguay.
Punta de [UNKNOWN].
Wow, well done.
I'm going to add my Spanish accent to that.
It was just before sunrise when I was running by the coast and saw this beautiful couple, which can you see they're very, very tiny on the left.
Side of the screen, just under the horizon line.
Had to take the picture.
Love your show, and of course, give you permission to use this photo on yours show, Juan.
P.S. Sorry for my English, I'm from Argentina.
Juan, your English is great.
Yeah.
No need to apologize for that.
And two, [LAUGH] see what I did with the-
I did.
[LAUGH]
Your picture is also great.
And if wanna send in your great phone-tography to be considered for a feature on the show, please email us.
Yeah, you gotta tell us what device you took that on and give us a little story about what it is.
And of course give us permission to use it on the show.
Yes.
And of course, you can find us all over social media.
We are there for you.
And beyond that?
Yeah, hope to hear from you with that hey TD hashtag so we can incorporate your stuff on Thursday's show.
But we'll be back tomorrow with more headlines, don't you worry.
We will.
But until then,
Be good humans
