Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is the first great multiplayer game for Nintendo Switch

[MUSIC] Mario cart 8 deluxe for Switch is out on April 28th and it's one of the first games that you can actually, realistically do local multiplayer. So we've got two switches set up, the four of us, we're gonna enter the first mode and tell you what the experience is like Gas, gas, hop. [LAUGH] Item. [LAUGH] You guys are going to do great. Okay. What. Here we go. But we're not a team. It's everyone for their self. Yeah. It's everyone, every man for himself. Seriously. Seriously. Yeah. These controllers are not the best. These are rough. How do I release this shell? You probably want to wear the grip for extra top button, extra top button presses. How do you fire? Those little buttons on top. Sweet. Don't really do much. Have to tap it in to make yourself. That left bumper is a tiny little button. Are you serious? It's not really. You have to look right at it. So this side of the table wasn't very good at that game, was it. [CROSSTALK] I didn't even work out what you do with your right hand [CROSSTALK] That's your hot button, you can hold [INAUDIBLE] and get extra power [MUSIC] Okay, now we're going to tryout four player, local multiplayer, four grown adults playing around a single Switch tablet. You can do this, Nintendo really liked to advertise the fact A group of four people could crowd around a tablet and all play at once. So this is what that actually looks like with four grown adults. It's kind of amazing they put four person split screen at all on the Switch. I'm surprised, considering The way I currently feel. [LAUGH] It's choppier. Yeah, it's definitely choppier. So I'm on the bottom right, I've discovered that. No, that's me. How are you seventh? No, I'm the bottom right. Are you sure? Yeah Yeah, cuz look. I'm with you guys I don't even know what. [LAUGH] I'm blue, blue-haired thing. Let me try this. Wow. I'm in fourth place now. We did pick a very dimly lit course. This is horrible. How do you guys like these controllers? Terrible. Terrible? [LAUGH] Awful. These aren't great. Last resort. But if you're trapped on a plane, what else are you gonna do? [CROSSTALK] You're not gonna carry around four separate pro controllers. If you, I keep saying about the grips, you gotta slide the grips in. You're kidding me. [INAUDIBLE] feeling right now. I did it, I am in first place. Can't even celebrate. I am now in eighth place. I am [INAUDIBLE] My whole body hurts. This mode is not the best for four player. I agree, the one thing that we haven't done with this that would make this better would be if you dock it. If you put this on a larger screen TV. [CROSSTALK] That's why you have four player split screen. We're at the park right now. Yeah, those odds, not as good there. Yeah, there's no TV here, this is what we have to do. If you're all lying on top of each other or right next to each other. I feel like if we were sitting on each others' laps it might have been a little better. Yeah.
