Hey guys, welcome to Tap That App... the show where we dig up
the hottest apps for your tappin pleasure.
Im sure youve seen animated GIFs...or Graphic Interchange
Formats...make a huge comeback on the Internet.
Youve got animated GIFs (also simply knows as GIFs) with
popular scenes from movies like Anchorman...(love that
scene)..and GIFs of cats...lots of them...reading books and
playing with iPads!
And of course, we cant forget the most iconic GIF... the dancing
baby. If you had a Geocities site, and it didnt include the creepy
baby dancing with hypnotic gyrations in a diaper... you just lost
some geek cred.
But now you have a chance to make it up by creating your very
own photo animation with the 99-cent GIF SHOP.
When you open the app, the camera will automatically launch.
Youll take a photo which will be your first frame...then another
photo for your second...and so on..until you have enough to
create an animation.
To help you line up your object...which keeps the gif consistent...
a faint layer of the last photo taken will show up.
When youve got all your frames, hit the Play button, to preview
it...and use the slider to slow down or speed up the animation to
get the effect you want.
Then, when youre satisfied, hit the settings button to select the
resolution...tap Done...then tap the Arrow to share your GIF to a
social networking site like Facebook. You can also send it to a
friend via email or MMS...or just email it to yourself to get the GIF
file for use anywhere you want.
For more awesome apps like this, check out other episodes of
the show...and send me any GIFs you make on Twitter.
For CNET, Im Sharon Vaknin. Happy tapping.
