Hey, everyone, I'm Molly Wood, and welcome to the CNET Mailbag, the show where we
take your feedback, answer your questions, and sometimes just revel in the weird stuff.
But let's start off with our new look! You may have noticed that all of CNET is getting a
facelift, and that includes all our shows. We got a new show open and music, and I'd love
to hear your thoughts -- mailbag@cnet.com.
Moving on ... we got a LOT of emails about the Buzz Report CeWEBrity Death Match
from a couple of weeks back. John, for example, said:
ceWebrity deathmatch is atrocious. please kill it. Go back to the regular Buzz Report
and let's never see that again.
Please.
Noted, John. Noted. But some people liked it! So ... you never know.
Anyway, here's a suggestion for CNET TV. Jake said:
I have and iPhone 3G and i love it. The problem is that a few times this summer I went
somewhere without access to a computer. And even though an iPhone is pretty much a
computer itself, one thing it can't do is stream CNET tv. ... I was thinking and, CNET
should make their own iPhone app with all the daily CNET videos!!! At least consider
it...
Well, Jake, we do have iphone.cnet.com, and that plays CNET TV videos and shows you
all our other CNET content in iPhone-friendly form. It could be a bit tidier, but it's a start.
I'll see if I can't get someone working on a PROPER iPhone app.
Speaking of iPhones, Wais sent in this cool iPhone tip:
While in a 'lock' mode, by pressing the 'home button' twice will allow you to play your
Ipod tunes.
Test it, share it, enjoy it!
Nice one, Wais! Thanks!
And Mike said:
Hey, thanks for the new shortcut ideas. I went button happy and discovered that WIN+B
takes your cursor into the taskbar. Hope you didn't already have that one.
Nerd out!
I didn't have that one, Mike. Thank you ... although honestly, I can't quite figure out what
I want that for. It's neat, though!
In other tips, looks like we owe Lori a tip. She writes:
Oh, no, Lori! We're so sorry! Ok, well, the best way disable the hack is to actually repeat
the remote code sequence again. So, select, play, select, 3 - 0, select. Try that. I hope it
works. If it doesn't, you can also fully unplug the TiVo to restart it. Let us know!
Ok, enough tips. Let's move on to some Cooley-mail.
Dmitriy writes:
Holy cow!, Brian Cooley's been birthing car vids like crazy these past two weeks. Im not
in the market for a new car but they are just sooo much fun to watch. Keep up the great
work guys.
Thanks, Dimitriy!
And Kevin writes in:
Hay Molly, I always hear Brian Cooley making James Bond comments on CNET Live
and on some of his car reviews, so I was wondering how big of a James Bond fan is he. Is
he the biggest James Bond fan in the office, would he beat everyone at the Scene It?
James Bond 007 Edition?
Dude? Brian Cooley would beat anyone in the WORLD at that game. I just have two
words for you. Commanders Club. Google it.
And finally, I want to give a quick shoutout to the Indian flag guy who challenged me to
read his email in Hindi this week. Heh. Dude. Thanks, but I just butchered some Japanese
in the last Buzz Report, so I think I need to take a break.
And that's it for this week, everyone. Keep that feedback coming! Mailbag@cnet.com, or
send me a postcard. 235 2nd St., San Francisco, CA, 94105. Next week will be all about
your snail mail, so if you've been wondering what happened to that postcard you sent,
tune in. See you then.
