>> Natali: Nokia launched the N97 today, which is a phone we could call in iPhone competitor, it's a touch-screen phone but it also
has a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, they're calling it a portable computer and it has a lot of features like the N800 and the N810 tablet.
It has 32G of memory which is expandable to 48G with a 16G memory card; it has a digital compass, DVD quality video capture and can
support 16 by 9 widescreen display, it also has a 5 Megapixel camera. The blogasphere and tech press seemed pretty excited about this
phone today and ya know what, so am I. I'm a fan of Nokia I used to have both of those tablet computers; I'm expecting big things from
this phone but, of course, for an official opinion we'll wait for a review from our mobile phone editors here at CNET. Say so long
to Pounce or maybe you never even said hello to Pounce, either way the site is shutting down. Pounce is a Twitter competitor that was
partially owned by Digg Founder, Kevin Rose [assumed spelling]. I liked Pounce I used it before I ever used Twitter but I'll have to
let it go because Six Apart is shutting it down. Six Apart is the blogging platform that bought Pounce but apparently they don't want
to use it. As a consolation to users you can import your posts to other blogging services but I think I'll pass and just stick to
Twitter. Several new sites including CNET will start using Facebook Connect soon; this is a service that lets members log onto other
websites with their Facebook profile so that their activity on those sites goes into their Facebook feed; this feature was launched
in May but we're only now starting to see it being used in highly traffic sites such as CBS.com, CNET, of course, Disney, ABC, Evite,
Looped, Twitter and more. Change.gov is now published under a creative commons license; this is the website started by President Elect
Barack Obama; this is a sign that the administration is amenable to open copyright agreements. The particular creative commons license that
Change.gov is using means that visitors can reuse any of the content on the site as long as they give proper attribution, none of that
all rights reserved nonsense. Citizens in Morocco are being issued special contact list ID cards, the Moroccan National Security Service
is issuing millions of these biometric smartcards to fight terrorism, it also seems to be pretty convenient. Citizens over 18 will be
required to carry the cards, which can also store information like birth certificates, residence and other important documents. Only
the card holder and government officials can access the data secured in the barcode and on the micro-chip so hopefully this will rule
out identity theft; this is the first national ID system based on the smartcard technology. If you're a Windows user you can now use
your Gmail from your desktop as a Widget or a Gadget, which is Google's term for Widget. The gadget lets you read, search and send
messages from the desktop, you can also star messages, use the same keyboard shortcuts and it also auto-completes your contacts in the
"To" line you can find it at the very long URL here on the screen. Every time Yahoo releases its top search terms of the year I feel
discouraged and the reason I feel discouraged is because it's always Britney Spears at the top of the list. I thought we were using the
Internet for good intellectual productive things but no, we're searching Britney Spears. I'm so disgusted with our celebrity obsessed
culture I could just cry. Why aren't we searching things like Darfur or Bailout, no we aren't searching those things here are some
of the other things at the top of the list: WWE, Miley Cyrus, Jessica Alba, Lindsey Lohan, American Idol, I don't get it I really do not.
Those are all your headlines for today, thank you for watching I will see you tomorrow. I'm Natali Del Conte with CNET TV and you've
just been Loaded.
