>> Dong: Hello, this is Dong Ngo for CNET.com and today we'll check out two new wireless routers from Linksys. Now Linksys tend to give
very long and complicated names for their routers so listen carefully as I hope I will not have to say these names twice. The first
router is the Dual Band Wireless and Gigabit Router WRT320N and the second one is Simultaneous Dual End Band Wireless Router WRT400N.
These are both dual band wireless end routers meaning they can operate in both 2.4GH and 5GH bands at the high speed of up to 300MB
per second. The WRT400N, however, can operate in these two bands simultaneously while the WRT320N can only operate in one band
at a time. On the other hand the WRT320N offers Gigabit Ethernet and the WRT400N doesn't. So if most computers in your network connect
to the routers using network cables the WRT320N is a better choice. However, if you want to have a wireless network that consists
of both 2.4GH and 5GH wireless clients the WRT400N is for you. Other than that the 2 routers are very much the same from the size,
shape to the features. I really like the design it's compact and eye-catching it also catches the fingerprint really well, unfortunately.
Both routers have 4 LAN ports and 1 WAN port on the back, there's no USB port; this means no print serving or network storage features.
On the front you can see an array of LED lights that indicate the status of the ports on the back and of the Internet as well as the
WiFi connections. In the middle of this LED you can find the WiFi [inaudible] setup buttons; this feature spares you from having to
type in the encryption key manually. In our testing both routers offered decent performance and range they come with a very good
desktop application as well as a very helpful web interface. The Simultaneous Dual Band WRT400N costs about $130.00 and the Gigabit
WRT320N can be found online for about $110.00. For more information on these routers check out the reviews at CNET.com. Once again
my name is Dong Ngo and this has been the first look at [inaudible] router from Linksys, the WRT320N and the WRT400N.
