I'm Nicole Lee, senior associate editor for CNET.com and this is the First Look at the LG Phoenix from AT&T Wireless.
The Phoenix is an entry-level Android phone the same way the LG Optimus phones were for T-Mobile with the LG Optimus T, Sprint with the LG Optimus S, and more.
This phone is essentially the same phone as all the other entry-level Optimus handsets.
It has a very slim and lightweight design,
very svelte, as you can see here.
On the front here is a simple 3-inch display, very nice and colorful as you can see here.
Underneath that you do get the usual 4 hot sensor Android keys for the Menu, the Home key, the Back key, as well as the Search function.
On the back here is the 3.2-megapixel camera.
Aside from that, many of the features are also very similar to the other Optimus phones.
You get Android 2.2 with the phone, not 2.3, although LG did say that it should be upgradeable to 2.3 sometime soon.
The LG Phoenix has a lot of features for a relatively entry-level handset.
It does have Wi-Fi, 3G, and GPS.
Like a lot of Android smartphones, the Phoenix comes with integration with Facebook and Twitter.
There are also widgets for the home screen.
And, of course, you get all the usual Google Services and apps like GMail, Google Maps, and so forth.
The LG Phoenix comes with a slew of AT&T apps as well.
They include AT&T Family Locator, AT&T Navigator, and more.
However, these AT&T preloaded apps are not removable.
The LG Phoenix is quite affordable at only around $50 with a new 2-year service agreement.
