Leave your smartphone behind with the Wink Relay smart home control switch
Hey it's Justin Yu from Cnet.com.
I'm here with Matt from Wink.
We're here to talk about the next evolution of home automation technology.
Yeah, so Wink is the quick simple way to control all your all your favorite smart products throughout your home in one simple app.
You can control things like door locks.
Blinds, thermostat, cameras.
All your favorite smart products in one simple app.
Yeah, so we're really excited, we're launching new products called Wink Relay.
And it brings the power of Wink to, to your wall.
Like, you choose a central place in your home where you can control.
All these products from all these brands like Scleg, Dropcam, Honeywell, Ream all that are partners and leading brands together in kind of one place in your home>>Mm hm>>so that you know everybody in a family can now interact with all these products.>>Right.
So we're in Wink's office here you guys have a nice little demo set up here, looks really familiar, kind of reminds me of my New York studio apartment>> [LAUGH]
so I'm feeling comfortable right now.
Can you give us a little demo of some of the products that you have here, using the Wink Relay?
Yeah, so, you know, we, we bring all these products together kind of, through, through the Wink Relay, where you can control all of them with just a, with a quick touch.
So, for instance, we have it set up with, with a wake up shortcut.
So when you wake up just, you know, hit one button and your GE bulbs come on.
Your sliding door unlocks.
Your [UNKNOWN] blinds come up.
So all these products work together with just that simple touch.
With [UNKNOWN] relay, you can control groups of products together, or you can show individual products, you know, based on your own preferences.
It's very cool and then you can customize your own sort of preferences here if you want a different profile.
Yeah and there's also two buttons here that you can have control your smart lights but they can also be set up to control any products around your home, so you always have that quick access to all of your products.
It wires up jus, just like any other light switch so as long as you have kinda one light switch on your wall.
You can just install this just, just the same as any other light switch.
And Wink Relay will retail for 249.
It goes on presale this week, and it'll be coming to a, a store near you in the next couple of months.
Just in time for the holiday.
You got it.
All right, well that's gonna wrap it up for us today.
We learned a lot of stuff about Wink today.
So thanks a lot Matt, I appreciate that.
If you want to check out the full review, you can do that in the future on cnet.com.
So that's gonna do it for me.
