>> Hi, I'm Kent German, senior editor at CNET.com. I'm here at the CTIA 2009 show in Las Vegas. Want to show you a new phone by Kyocera. It's the Kyocera Good to Go M2000. And it's a little bit of a confusing name. It is -- if you look at it, it would say "G2GO. They like to say "Good to Go." So I'll pronounce it that way. This phone also will be called the Kyocera X2C. That's coming to Virgin Mobile soon for $99.00. The phone slider design does hide a QWERTY keyboard. It is one of the few QWERTY keyboard phones that Virgin Mobile will have. I'll show you that in a second. Want to talk about the display first. It's pretty large, [inaudible] really nice, [inaudible] bright and colorful. Colors look great. Shapes look great. Graphics. Has a few player controls up here. That is for the music player. You can activate the music player and go through it just with these controls. Has navigation controls down here. There's a square toggle with a central button. There's a dedicated speakerphone button, which is always a nice touch. There's a back button and the talk and end keys. On the side you'll see a volume rocker. Here in the back, you'll see the camera lens. Here in the side, there's a headset jack. We have the micro USB port, and a microSD port for your memory card. To show you the keyboard, we'll tip the phone on its slide. Slide it up just like that. Keyboard is fine. I'm a little worried that it's a little cramped. There's only three lines, so that means that you have a full line up here. But then the last line -- you know, the "Z" through the "M" key -- actually the space bar's in the middle. Typically we see the space bar down below, maybe with shortcut keys on either side. So just was a little concerned about that. I didn't have a huge problem, but if you have larger fingers or if you're just getting used to these keyboards for the first, definitely want to give this one a try first. Also, notice that the number keys are mixed in with the letter keys. Also, another odd touch, you'll notice that the number keys don't have the same orientation as they do here. You see the "F" is right side up, but then the "2" is to the side. That's because if you want to dial, you have to open the phone like this and then use the keypad that way. So it might be a little confusing for same people. Sometimes we see the QWERTY keyboard phone, we see, maybe, a virtual keyboard on the screen, or we see a dedicated keypad down below. So just one thing to notice. Have some dedicated arrow keys right here that will help you maneuver through the menus, couple of soft keys over here. That's one thing that's interesting is you'll see these commands down here, and the soft keys that actually perform those functions are way over to the side, so a little bit of a visual job you have to do there. Not many shortcut keys, just a symbol key and a caps key right here. So it's nice that you have the QWERTY keyboard, but definitely some quarks that you might have to get used to. Inside the phone, there is a 1.3-megapixel camera. There is stereo Bluetooth, a music player, organizer function, speakerphone. Everything you might expect from sort of the low-end to midrange on a multimedia phone. I'm Kent German. It's the Kyocera Good to Go M2000, also known as the Virgin Mobile XTC.
