However, it was another basketball sensation that got more attention on Twitter.
The Black Mamba, Kobe Bryant, also played his final game for the Los Angeles' Lakers that night.
Comments about his swan song dominated [INAUDIBLE] the site with fellow pro ballers like Lebron James congratulating him on an incredible 60 point performance and rapper Kanye West making his own exclusive merch for the historic event.
Even President Obama joined in on the fun.
Though Kobe was clearly a winner on social media, at one point during the Warriors romp over the Memphis Grizzlies Responses on Twitter overloaded the social network, causing a brief outage.
Kobe's career might have just ended, but the playoffs are only beginning.
