-Hey, I'm Mark Licea and this week, an ethanol pump for your home, the US Navy gets solar power, and is working from home easier on the environment?
The Green Show starts now.
E-Fuel is a company that has a special gas pump.
It's called the MicroFusion Reactor and it turns your waste into fuel, kinda like the DeLorean in Back to the Future 2.
You treat the reactor like a compost bin and the waste gets turned into ethanol.
-We take organic waste and this machine processes that waste and makes it into an ethanol fuel base that will run on any car on the road today and it generates it 24/7.
It can run at your home or your office.
Its main purpose is to generate fuel for you automobile.
It will generate up to 14,000 gallons per year
so it's enough for not only you but, you know, a large family or a business, a fleet of cars.
This machine will also power a wet ethanol combustion generator.
The generator is capable of producing enough power to run the average American home completely without the assistance of a grid and the heat from this generator also is used to make the fuel in the Micro Fueler.
So, it's a very efficient operation.
We use the heat loss of the generator to make the fuel so the fuel cost is very inexpensive as well as electricity for your home.
-And the US Navy is also interested in cheap electricity.
The military branch is investing $1.9 million on a new solar parking lot.
That doesn't sound cheap but the new facility will save the Navy SEAL base in California $30,000 each year in electricity costs.
Working at home has its perks and aside from wearing the same boxers and T-shirt days in a row, one study says it may not be as green as some think.
Science Daily suggests that working from home can increase home energy use by 30% and while there are a ton of variants for people that work from home, it's more of a friendly reminder to keep your power use in check.
That's the show for this week.
I'm Mark Licea, thanks for watching.
