JVC DLA-X700R: The best projector picture we've ever reviewed
Hi there David Katzmaier here from CNET and in front I mean is the most expensive and also the nice has projector we've ever tested here this is the JV CD LAX 700 are.
This is the second most expensive -- C projector for 2013 -- -- fourteen.
It uses the company's new. DI LA chips -- -- that was a mouthful so we'll start at the beginning.
This is not a four K projector unlike some competing Sony units which are even more expensive than this one.
It uses JVCs you shift technology which takes the 1080.
Are being considerate and really consider that part of its technology all that impressive we'll get to that in a little bit but still an excellent projector overall.
Feature wise includes JVC's patented suite of excellent on screen adjustments you can go and use the remote control to -- stuff like land shift.
All the other focus and zoom -- need to do to set up projector so set up was really easy.
Nothing really appreciated was the quietness of this projector it's really silent when it's running a season high -- mode which most people in home -- situation aren't gonna want to use.
The projector can of course a comedy and -- more thick lenses if you need to and it has lands memories.
To work with those lenses and get everything set up again in a pro level pretty much is good you can expect.
This projector is THX certified it also has ISF node so if you have a -- -- coming over which I definitely recommend with a projector that's expensive.
He or she should be able to get the ultimate picture quality again with -- dedicated screen and dedicated room.
Of course that's a downside -- reject it like this you're gonna need to -- a relatively nice screen to keep up -- and also have a completely dark room to get the best picture quality out of it.
Once you do that the picture is superb.
This projector is definitely better than the stepped down GBC to be looked at the X 35 although it's not.
Leaps and bounds better the black holes are a little bit darker the one thing this does.
A little bit better in that projector that gets the bright brighter so you get an even more punch in contrast.
Despite -- has excellent really deep black levels which again are as good or better than any project we've ever seen.
Combine that with the excellent color on this projector and you get really an eye popping superb picture that's -- a pretty much any other display technology out there.
Except for maybe --
As you -- at the top where -- shift really isn't a great improvement.
It does increased pixel fills if you stand really close the screen -- -- pixel -- if you turn on the most people aren't gonna sit close enough to actually appreciated.
On the downside we did see a couple extra artifacts introduced --
On the flip side it doesn't have all the resolution that we'd expect from a four K projector of course it doesn't have all the pixels either so again if you're gonna invest in projector that's expensive you might wanna know that the four K projectors with a little bit more expensive even in this are gonna give you better detail of course you'll only get that extra -- to -- four -- sources which at the moment.
Are incredibly rare and of course there's no guarantee those projections are gonna match this JVC when it comes to black levels and color which are much more important resolution anyway even on -- large screen despite its expense service projector does not include three capability in the box you're gonna need to buy a separate -- which is 99 box as well as separate classes JVC is a pretty expensive and about 150 that this actually works with other third party last of the possible -- point box.
You can see did three mirror -- -- -- right to the back of the -- here there's also two HDMI inputs RS 232 and ethernet remote control.
So beyond others he tells the real take -- here is this projector is superb as excellent picture quality and that's really what you -- -- get if you're gonna spend this kind of money.
Of course you know last and it's kind of money to -- -- -- projector is extremely good as well and again an extremely good value with less than half the price.
That's a quick look at JV -- DL AX 700.
