JBL's On Air Control 2.4GJBL's On Air Control 2.4G requires an annoying amount of wires and has limited compatibility with surround receivers, but its impressive sound quality surpasses that of previous wireless solutions.
[ Music ] >> I'm John Falcone senior editor from CNET dot com and this is the JBL On Air Control two point four G wireless speaker system. It's a pretty straightforward wireless stereo speaker system that's really easy to set up. It has a small transmitter that you hook to your audio source and that wirelessly transmits the sound to both of the speakers, which you can put pretty much anywhere in the room. The speakers themselves are pretty small, kind of standard bookshelf monitor speakers. They also come with all the hardware you need to mount them. As far as connectivity on the speakers themselves, it's pretty straightforward. You plug the power cord in here. It also has a line in and there's even a subwoofer out. These worked really well for us in terms of delivering a solid signal. The sound quality as well was, for a wireless speaker, it was very impressive. For a standard speaker, it was more or less, what you'd expect for speakers of this size and price range. Unfortunately, the base station didn't have as many connections on it as we would've liked. It just has a standard RCA stereo in. But of course, the big caveat with these wireless speakers is that they do involve quite a lot of wires. If you can deal with all those wires in this wireless speaker system, it's actually one of the best sounding ones and best performing wireless speaker systems that we've seen to date.
