-Hey, guys, Dong Ngo here at CES 2013 in Las Vegas.
If you ask me what I should bet on?
I should bet on this and maybe you should too.
And that's because this is a waterproof, fireproof NAS server from IoSafe.
Now, this is a dual-bay server.
And right on the inside, there's two hard-drives.
That means you can set up in RAID 1 to protect it against a single hard-drive failure.
The question is how do you actually get to the drive?
Well, there's a hex driver right here and let's see how I do this.
It's actually easier than you think to open it.
And there you go.
Here is the drive door and it feels like that of a vault.
And this protects the drive from the extreme heat up to 15 degrees Fahrenheit to 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
And on the inside here, there's another layer of protection and this protect the driver inside from water.
And you can see here, there's two drives on the inside that can be replaced by you.
Now, the device is really, really heavy but that's good thing because it make it harder to be stolen or just share a few [inaudible] where it is very low.
Now, if you look around here, this is the booth of Synology.
So, the question is what is an IoSafe drive doing here in a booth of a different company?
And that's because on the inside is powered by Synology NAS operating system.
And that's a very good thing because in my experience, Synology is one of the best if not the best when it comes to network storage.
With that said, this device right here offers you the best of both world: the most protection on the outside from IoSafe and the best feature on the inside from Synology.
Now, I haven't had a chance to win [inaudible] how this one withstand disaster.
But over here, there's one that's being done and you can see that the driver inside should be safe from fire or water.
And my guess is this software is going to give you great performance but make sure you check back at the show for the full review.
Once again, my name is Dong Ngo and this has been
a very brief look at the brand new NAS server from IoSafe N2.
