[ Music ] ^M00:00:04 >> Jeff Bakalar: Hey, what's up everybody I'm Jeff Bakalar for CNET.com. Today we are checking out the insignia MSPDVD 8. Now the PDVD 8 is another portable DVD player with an 8 1/2 inch screen that swivels around as well; definitely excited to see 3 head phone inputs on this portable DVD player along with the standard AV in and out interfaces. Covering the DVD player is this weird sort of rubberized covering. Unfortunately though it's a fingerprint magnet that's almost impossible to clean off so you're gonna want to make sure your hands are clean whenever you handle this thing. The buttons on the front of it feel a bit cheap and plasticky almost that of a child's toy. Included: The remote it's kind of thin and a bit too long. It works well but there's no volume control so all the volume control must be done on board. Picture quality is also subpar we we're very impressed with it, however battery life was decent, gave us about 5 1/2 hours of playtime. Overall the insignia is good if you just need a bear bones portable DVD player, it's affordable, it's cheap, but don't expect too many features to come along in this package.
