>> Hi! I'm Jasmine France, Senior associate editor for CNET.com. I'm here with the Insignia Kix MP3 player. Now, this is a very small and inexpensive MP3 player. It will cost you about $40 online. It's from Best Buy only. It comes with 1-gigabyte built-in memory and it comes in a couple of configurations for colors. This is actually considered the white version, but the colors that come with it are green, pink and blue. And these little covers actually snap really easily off the player itself, so you can color coordinate if you want to or it's a good thing for the younger set. Now it does come in another version, and it's considered silver, but the silver one comes with black, maroon, and dark blue flaps, so it's a little bit more understated. You get the built-in USB plug here. So, you can play it right into the computer. That's handy. A couple of other handy features on this player for the price, you get FM radio and also Rhapsody DNA integration, which allows you to put Rhapsody Channels on it. It is compatible with WMA subscription, MP3 as well and that's about it. You don't get photos or videos on the small screen here. This is just a four color screen. A couple of complains that I have is that the control pad is, kind of small and stiff, so it is hard to use sometimes and it isn't the most responsive. Also as you might expect from a player of this size and price, it doesn't have great bass response. Overall sound quality is pretty decent, but you're not gonna get the great sound quality you might get from the pricier player. Finally, the player because of the snap off covers and just because of the rough-feel, it does have a kind of cheaper feel to it, but I mean for 40 bucks, you've gotta kind of expect that. It is a worthy option to look into if you need a secondary player for the gym or if you're looking to get a young child in to their first MP3 player. I'm Jasmine France and this has been the Insignia Kix.
