Today I'm at the CNET smart home taking an updated look at the iDevices Switch, now on sale for $60 at the iDevices online store.
As you can see the exterior design is very slick, and for anyone who's comfortable with Apple products this will feel very familiar.
That's not a coincidence.
iDevices is a home kit partner with Apple, which means that this is an iOS exclusive.
The iDevices switch is a breeze to install and you can have it up and running in under five minutes.
It does what it's supposed to, turning products on and off But it also has a customizable nightlight and with the newest firmware updates you can do energy tracking and you can remotely access the switch.
All these components in combination make this switch very competitive.
The idevice app, is one of the most promising aspects of this product.
But its Home Kit integration can be a little bit frustrating.
The app's interface is intuitive and fun, but user sharing can take upwards of a few hours and there aren't customizable permissions.
That means either family members can access everything, or they can't access anything.
If you're looking for a smart switch, this is one of the best options out there.
Plus, despite any complaints that I have about Home Kit

The system is very high potential.
If you need a smart switch this season, or just a last minute holiday gift, I would definitely recommend this one.
