Hyperloop one successfully completed another round of testing in the Nevada desert.
And hit a new milestone in it's quest to make the concept a reality.
It's Hyperloop Pod XP1 reached speeds of up to 192 miles per hour during the The test and covered over 1,400 feet of track.
That's a massive improvement over the scale test back in May 2017, which only covered about 315 feet of track and topped out at speeds just under 70 miles per hour.
This stage-two test depressurized the tube to reduce friction on the pod while it moved.
The equivalent would be about 200,000 feet above sea-level.
Hyperloop One says all systems performed well during the test.
As for what's next, tech crunch spoke with Hyperloop One CEO Rob Lloyd who said quote, we are actually now starting to install the concept of an airlock, so that we'll We'll have an entry and exit way to load the pod, which will then inform station design and other parts of the overall system.
If you're not familiar with hyperloop, the idea is magnetic levitation and pressurized tubes used to propel a pod at high speeds, making long-distance Business journeys much, much shorter.
