How to set up and use Apple Pay with your Apple Watch

Speaker 1: There are many ways to use mobile payments and the apple watch makes it even more convenient. If you set up your apple wallet today, I'm gonna show you how to set up and use apple pay on your apple watch. If you need that, the first thing you need to do is set up your apple wallet on your iPhone. We have a very detailed video on how to do exactly that [00:00:30] called how to set up and use apple pay. So make sure you check it out. Once your apple wallet is ready to go, and you've added all the credit cards you want to use on a regular basis. Open the apple watch app on your iPhone. Tap on my watch and then select wallet and apple pay. You'll now see your credit cards that you added previously listed in the app. If you have credit cards on any of your other apple devices, like your MacBook pro or your iPad or credit cards that you recently removed, they will also be displayed here. Tap [00:01:00] ad next to the cards you want to add to your apple watch, then enter the card CVV number on the back For any new credit card, simply tap ad card, then follow the onscreen instructions to verify the card with the bank. Speaker 1: Some banks might require additional steps to verify your card like entering a pin number or a special security code. Once your credit [00:01:30] card or cards have been added, you can select a default credit card to use. When making purchases with apple pay to do that. Tap default card, then select the card you want to use on a regular basis. You can also to reorder your credit card simply by touching and holding a credit card. Much like you do when you're reordering your apps on your iPhone. You can also do this on a managed apple watch. If your kids or someone in your family has an apple watch, but does not have an iPhone to remove a credit card using your apple. Watch open the wallet app on [00:02:00] your apple. Watch, then tap to select credit card you wanna remove, then scroll down and press the delete button. You can also do this from the apple watch app on your iPhone. Tap on my watch, then select wallet and apple pay. Then tap on the card you wanna remove and select, remove this card. Never before. I think you'd have to do so much stuff for the watch, but it's 2021. What are you gonna do now for the important stuff? Here's how to pay [00:02:30] for stuff in a store using your apple watch with apple pay. Speaker 1: When it comes time to pay, hold your apple, watch near the payment terminal and double press the button underneath the digital crown. You we'll give you a prompt to do this. When it comes time to pay, the terminal will make a beeping sound and you will see that the transaction took place. It's super quick and fast, and you don't have to go searching in your pocket to dig out your giant iPhone for the transaction. The payment [00:03:00] terminal will make a beeping sound and you'll actually see that the payment took place. But on some terminals, you do have to hold the watch really close so that it makes the transaction. Speaker 1: You can also change and update your transaction settings. At any time you can change your default car, your shipping address, your email and your phone number to do this. Open the apple watch app on your phone and tap on my watch, select wallet and apple pay. Then scroll down [00:03:30] below the checkout transaction details. Click on an item to edit and make changes. And finally, heaven forbid. If your apple watch is lost or stolen, you have a few options to protect yourself, to stop anyone from going around on an apple pay spending spree. First, you can put your apple watch into lost mode. This will prevent your apple watch from being used with apple pay and will lock your watch with a passcode. So no one can access your personal information to do this. Open the apple, watch apple on your I phone. [00:04:00] Tap my watch. Speaker 1: Then tap all watches in the app. Select the tiny eye icon next to your lost watch. Then tap. Find my apple. Watch. This will take you to the, find my app on your iPhone. Click on activate under the mark as lost option. Then tap, continue. You can end your phone number. If you'd like the person or thief who has found or stolen your apple watch to contact you, click on next. And then you can enter in a message [00:04:30] that will be displayed on the watch. If someone finds or steals it, wow, apple really thought of everything didn't they I'm gonna put in a little hate message. If it gets stolen, you can also do this using your apple ID on a web browser. If you don't have your phone sign into your apple account@appleid.apple.com using your apple ID, find the devices area in your account and choose the apple watch device. Speaker 1: Then click remove all [00:05:00] under apple pay. This will suspend all your credit cards on that device, and it's probably best to call all your credit card issuers just in case. If you get lucky and you find or recover your lost or stolen apple watch, you can either enter the password on your apple watch or on your phone. Open the find my app and select devices. Click on your apple. Watch then tap on activated. Then select turn off mark as lost, and you can now access your apple watch again. If you unfortunately [00:05:30] are never able to recover your apple watch, then it's probably a smart idea to erase your apple. Watch to protect your personal information. Before you erase your apple watch double check that it is truly lost by playing a down to locate it around your house. Check in every room in your house, check in your car. Speaker 1: Maybe even go to the office and look around there. You just wanna confirm that you ain't getting it back before you erase it. Open the apple, watch on your phone and tap on my watch. Then tap all watches, click [00:06:00] on the little eye icon. Then tap, find my apple. Watch in the, find my app on your iPhone, select your watch and then select erase this device. After you erase your watch, you will not be able to use the, find my app again, pretty much for anything with your apple. This is final and finished. Well, that's it. That's how you can manage apple pay and your apple wallet on your apple watch to make purchases out and about without your iPhone.
