Honda's autonomous off-road robot is ready to assist

Automakers might show up to CES in droves but that does not mean their debuts have to be cars.
Honda debuted multiple robotic concepts at this years CES.
Now the whole goal is to show how Honda's experience in robotics can help improve humanity once we get to that point.
This one behind me is called the 3ED18 but you're not gonna remember that name and frankly neither am I Based on Honda's experience in all-terrain vehicles, this little guy is an autonomous off-road robot.
He's meant to go places people shouldn't, which would make him, I'd say, an ideal candidate for a search and rescue operation.
Like so many things to come out of the automotive industry these days, not only is this guy autonomous, he is also fully electric.
And since the tires don't have air, punctures and other tire-related maladies won't keep this guy from going where humans shouldn't.
Now, Honda's still in the process of figuring out just how humans are going to be interacting with robots in the future, which is why, for now, D18 over there is just gonna be a concept and not anything destined for production.
But I mean it makes a lot of sense, doesn't it?
Goes places people shouldn't, helps other people in the process.
What's not to like?
